Oegstgeest is a green and peaceful village, centrally located in the Randstad area. It is situated near the A44 highway and can be accessed via Leiden central station. Oegstgeest has a population of about 22,000. Oegstgeest has beautiful early 20^th century neighborhoods and areas with newer houses. The De Kempenaer Straat and the Langevoort shopping centre offer a wide range of shops. Friday night is shopping night, while there is no Sunday shopping.

Our village has several types of primary schools and a number of secondary schools, including the Rijnlands Lyceum which provides bilingual education.
